of Hazrat Maulana Abdul
Hamid Is`haq Saheb
(Daamat Barakaatuhum)
1.
The Shaykh is the doctor who removes the cataract from the eyes
of the spiritual heart, after which the Saalik is blessed with baseerat
(spiritual sight) and Ma`rifat of Allah Ta’ala. And naturally, having
recognized the Beloved, the goal is achieved.
2.
The noble qualities of Akhlaaq-e-Hameeda increase the value of a
person.
3.
The Kalima ‘La ilaaha Ilallah’ has an alchemy effect : It
changes a Jahannami into a Jannati; it
changes one who was hated into one who is now loved; it changes the lowest into
the highest. SubhanAllah.
4.
The Ahlullah teach us how to make our
lives valuable.
5.
In the decisions of
Allah Ta’ala, is Hidden Kindness.
6.
Anyone who wants to learn Good Character will have to go to the
threshold of Nabi (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam). Good character is his Sunnah
and it is from him and those who follow him that we too will learn good
character.
7.
We are not here for the sake of Dunya. We are here for the sake
of Aakhirah. We have to prepare here, to live
it up there.
8.
A mureed should not ride on the crest of his Shaykh’s name and
honour – that is, he should not take advantage of others or have expectations
of others, by virtue of his connection with his Shaykh.
9.
If a person sees his wife as a gift from Allah (Jalla
Jalaaluhu), his marriage will be one of greater enjoyment.
If the wife sees her husband as a gift from Allah (Jalla
Jalaaluhu), she too will experience greater joy.
10.
‘Today, people want to give Islam a facelift; to make Islam fit
into modern society. Islam does not need a facelift – Islam is ever-beautiful,
ever-youthful. It is not a way of life that becomes old or out-dated.
Rather, it is modern society that needs to change and conform.’
11.
Durood Sharief is a capsule which containes three forms of
Ibaadat:
Shukr (appreciation), Hamd (praise) and Dua (supplication).

When making Taubah and Istighfaar, begging Allah (Jalla
Jalaaluhu)
for blanket amnesty, is safest.
13.
The Saalik who attributes his achievements to his Mujahada and
Khidmat, is in deception.
All achievements are favours of Allah Ta’ala.
14.
Once there is love and trust in the Shaykh, the path to Allah
Ta’ala becomes easy.
15.
Anyone who finds Allah Ta’ala becomes disinclined to Dunya.
16.
‘Ana’
(I) is a killer. It leads to ‘self-admiration’ and vanity (ujub), as well as an
expectation of praise and acclaim.
This ujub and takabbur
(pride) inherent in ‘ana’ leads to one’s destruction.
17.
We are passing through the passage of
life and not recognizing Allah Ta’ala; whereas everything around are signs of
His Greatness, Perfection and Beauty.
18.
Look at our attachment to our cell phones
(mobile phones)! How can our attachment to the Qur`aan Shareef be anything
less?
19.
No other person can eat or take what is
your Rizq (sustenance). What is destined for you, of your rizq, will reach you.
You cannot miss it.
20.
Allah Ta’ala lights the lamp of Islam in the hearts of people,
with good character and kindness. This is one very successful method in which
Islam spread and spreads.
21.
Deen is based on two solid pillars: Qur`aan and Hadeeth. It is not based on our thinking,
which is generally weak and flawed.
22.
With the spark of love, marriage is enjoyable;
with the spark of Allah’s Love, Deen is enjoyable.
23.
An angry person is a restless person; a person who allows his nafs
to deprive him of peace and tranquillity.
24.
Where there is humility, there are no fights. Where there is pride, there are endless fights.
25.
The heart is destroyed by lustful glances. Since the heart is the home of Imaan,
so Imaan is destroyed with lustful glances.
26.
The person who follows the signboards of the Sunnah, will come out in Jannah.
27.
The secret code to press for Allah Ta’ala’s Help, against the whisperings of shaytaan, is ‘Ta`awwuz’.
28.
When Allah (Jalla Jalaaluhu) gives a person elevation, Allah (Jalla Jalaaluhu)
also grants His Protection.
29.
When visiting the sick person, our duty is to lift his spirits and give him hope.
30.
The non-Muslims take out each Sunnah with an inferior substitute of their culture.
And we too accept their cheap “goods” and do not even recognize our enormous losses.
31.
Your action of abstinence makes you a favourite and friend of Allah (Jalla Jalaaluhu)
32.
The person who harbours evil thoughts of the Ahlullah is the one who is deprived; who is cut off from many spiritual blessings.
33.
In the Majaalis of the Sheikh, general prescriptions are given.
However, if a Mureed maintains his Ta-alluq, informing the Sheikh of his spiritual weaknesses, whether when meeting with him or via correspondence, that Mureed is privileged with a Tailor-made prescription.
There is great progress in informing the Sheikh, but how many do so?
34.
We must not be ‘salt’ with the label of ‘sugar’. Allah (Jalla Jalaaluhu)’s Help is not on the label, but it is on the reality.
35.
People call by different names: Extremists, fundamentalists, radicals, fanatics, rebels, terrorists. …Don’t feel offended. Glad tidings to the Ghurabah (strangers).
Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said: “Islam began as something strange and it will return strange as it began, so glad tidings for the strangers.”
[Sahih Muslim]
When a person spends his money in the path of Allah Ta’ala, he transfers his money from the account of Dunya to the account of Aakhirah.
36.
The Muhabbat of Allah Ta’ala and Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) is an Ibaadat, which is ranked as one of the greatest and most fundamental.
37.
Write your life for Allah Ta’ala – like how the Sahaba-e-Kiraam (RA) wrote their lives.
...They wrote their lives with their blood, with love, obedience, sacrifice, sincere commitment to Islam and adherence to the Sunnah.
Their life story was a love story which ascended the confines of this temporary world – because their love relationship had its connection in the heavens, with the Creator of the Universe.
They wrote their lives for Allah Ta'ala and Allah Ta'ala 'wrote' their honour in His Kalaam, the Qur`aan Shareef, for all times;
and presented their lives for all of mankind to take lesson from and draw inspiration from, until Qiyaamah.
38.
To the extent that our Salaah will be correct, our Dien will be correct.
To the extent that our Dien will be correct, our Dunya and Aakhirat will also be correct.
39.
Fortunate is the one who appreciates the bounties of Allah Ta'ala and expresses his appreciation – both verbally and in deed, i.e. he uses Allah Ta'ala's bounties in His obedience.
Whoever is sincerely grateful, Allah Ta'ala promises an increase of His bounties.
40.
Choosing the temporary enjoyments of sins, can result in losing the eternal enjoyments of Jannah!
Whilst there is life and opportunity, we should give up sins and secure the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala and the everlasting pleasures of Jannah.
41.
The lovers of Allah Ta’ala have love for each other irrespective of where they reside in the world.
Our Sheikh, Hadhrat Moulana Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Saheb (Rahmatullahi ‘alayh) would say that the Lovers of Allah Ta’ala are one family.
42.
When making the Tarbiyyah of your child, do not forget that you too were a child once.
You too made mistakes.
43.
When we switch on the light of Tashakkur (gratitude), the darkness of Takabbur (pride) will disappear.
44.
Every righteous effort of Dien is a tower on its own – be it the Darul Ulooms, Makaatib, Khanqahs, Tabligh, etc.
No effort of Dien should be criticized or lowered to prove the greatness of another. All efforts are important and beneficial, and each effort complements the other.

Allah Ta’ala is “Ghafoorul-Wadood”(Most Forgiving and Most Loving).
Due to Allah Ta'ala's love for His creation, He forgives.
Allah Ta’ala loves to forgive and He forgives in great abundance.
47.
When we correct our matters with Allah Ta’ala, Allah Ta’ala corrects
our matters with people.
48.
Keeping the Company of the Sheikh must be accompanied with the
intentions of Islaah and gaining the Love of Allah Ta’ala. These intentions will
then yield great results, Insha-Allah.
49.
We think too much of what other people think. We should focus on
just pleasing One Allah.
50.
The Mashaa’ik do not destroy the capital of Love in the heart.
They re-channel it: from Haraam to Halaal; from ghairullah to Allah Ta’ala;
from those who are dying to THE ONE WHO NEVER DIES.
Allah Ta'ala is Al-Hayy (The Ever-Living).
Allah Ta'ala is Al-Hayy (The Ever-Living).
51.
Sabr (patience) is bitter but its fruit is extremely sweet.
52.
What is Haraam to touch; is Haraam to look at.
What is Haraam to speak; is Haraam to listen to.
53.
When searching for a spouse look for a soft natured and gentle person, for he/she will change the world for you!
And you be the same for your spouse!
54.
On sincere repentance and Rujoo ilallaah, a person who was “Naari”
(destined for the fire of Jahannam) becomes “Noori” (full of Noor).
55.
The love of Dunya does not allow preparation for the Aakhirah (Hereafter).
Greed for Dunya diverts from the obedience of Allah Ta’ala.
Yet, at the time of death, nothing of Dunya is taken.
56.
When we ask of Allah Ta’ala, our respect increases.
When we ask of people, our respect is lost.
57.
Implementing the Command of “Ittaqullah”, in our lives, bears the fruit of every good
and is a prescription and a medication for all spiritual ailments.
58.
We should not be deceived by our outward dress and/or titles which
signify and allude to Taqwa (piety).
Taqwa is leaving off every form of disobedience to Allah Ta’ala.
59.
Rich is that person whose wealth is in his heart.
60.
Close your eyes to Haraam and open your eyes to Halaal (i.e. your wife)
– and you will find your wife to be the most beautiful.
61.
Allah Ta'ala looks for an excuse to forgive;
Allah Ta'ala does not look for an excuse to punish.
62.
When a person abstains from sins and is occupied in good deeds,
he is living in the shade of Jannah.
63.
Allah Ta’ala greatly loves that Ibaadah that ends with Istighfaar.
64.
Without any request or application, Allah Ta’ala gave us this passport of Imaan –
which is the passport of Jannah.
If we lose it and return to the Hereafter without it,
there are no application forms that can be filled in for a new passport.
May Allah Ta’ala grant us the understanding, the concern and the Taufeeq of all
those deeds which will be a means of preserving our Imaan.
May Allah Ta'ala protect our Imaan, in these times of great Fitnah.
65.
It is Allah Ta’ala’s great favour upon us that He has instructed us to carry out
the same act that He and His Malaa'ikah do – which is conveying Durood Sharief
to Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam).
Value this privilege by reciting Durood Sharief in abundance.
Read Durood Sharief with love and respect.
“Indeed, Allah and His Angels confer blessings upon the Nabi.
O you who believe, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask
[Allah to grant him] peace.”
[Surah Al-Ahzaab 33 : 56]
66.
If a person is blessed with the great quality of Tawakkul (placing his trust in Allah Ta’ala), he will be freed from the anxieties and worries of Dunya.
67.
The Sheikh distributes the candy, sweets and chocolates of Allah Ta’ala’s love in his Majaalis. Those who accept will experience the unsurpassed sweetness and enjoyment of Allah Ta’ala’s love.
68.
Our success and failure does not lie outside of us. Our success and failure lie inside of us.
69.
People say: “Paint the town red!” – that is, go out, live a free life, live a wild life, make merry …in sins.
Indulgence in sins is ‘painting’ one’s heart and life red with the flames of Azaab (punishment).
70.
We are seeking medication in the poison of sins; seeking solutions to our problems in sins, and searching for way out of our difficulties but locking all the doors of escape with our indulgence in sins.
The medication is Sincere Taubah from all sins; the solution is obedience to Allah Ta’ala and His Rasul (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam); and the way out is Taqwa (abstinence from sins).
71.
Make the intention for Allah Ta’ala Alone. Imbed the intention in your heart.
Refresh the intention. Live the Intention.
72.
The western world tells us to light the fire (of sins) but not get burnt.
Islam tells us NOT to light the fire (of sins), so there is no danger of getting burnt.
73.
Depend on Him (Allah Ta’ala) Who does not depend on anyone.
Allah Ta'ala is As-Samad - completely independent of all creation.
74.
To become pious is compulsory, but to think of one's self as being pious is Haraam (forbidden).
75.
Just as we have conviction that fire burns, so have the same conviction that Zina (adultery/fornication) burns; Riba (usury / interest) burns; music burns; pornography burns; drugs burn.
EVERY SIN BURNS.
Jahannum (hellfire) is a reality.
Staying away from sins offers protection from the fire of the Hereafter.
76.
The heart which is connected to Allah Ta’ala moves closer to Him in times of difficulty. The heart which is not connected to Allah Ta’ala moves further away from Him in times of difficulty.
The need is to connect with Allah Ta'ala and maintain that connection in all conditions.

77.
We are what we eat. Not only will our food determine our health; our food will determine our character, our morals and our thinking. Most important is that it will determine our level of Imaan and will inevitably be a great concluding factor for us at the time of Maut (death) – as to which way we are going. So we have to be very particular and serious about the food we consume.
78.
Like a computer virus can be the cause of corruption of files and deletion and loss of all work, the viruses of Riyaa (show / ostentation), Ujub (vanity / conceit), Kibr (pride) and other sins have similar consequences. They destroy and delete all good works. May Allah Ta’ala protect us.
79.
If an employee does not do his work a few times, we want to get rid of him. If he persists in his negligence, we fire him.
Look at Allah Ta’ala’s Tolerance and His Kindness upon us. We are so negligent in the work we were created for, of worshipping Allah Ta’ala and earning His Pleasure. Despite our heedlessness, He gives us chances. He does not fire us for even the major sins committed, giving us opportunity upon opportunity for Taubah (repentance).
80.
Let us ask ourselves : In the last 24 hours, have we devoted more time to Dien or to Dunya? Have we spent more money for Dien and for earning our Aakhirah or have we spent more on Dunya’s luxuries?
Dunya is Daarul Ghuroor – a place of deception. We give our time to and spend so much on something we have to leave behind and something that has no value in the Sight of Allah Ta'ala.
81.
We talk so much about the necessity to conform to health guidelines and abide by the government regulations. What about the great need and importance to conform to the regulations and Orders of Allah Ta'ala, our Rabb?
82.
We become restless when in quarantine or isolation or lock-down. We should take lesson: Each one of us will be in quarantine, in our graves, until Qiyamah. What will our condition there be?
83.
The purpose of the alarm clock is to wake us up. If we don't get up, the alarm will continue to ring at intervals, until we wake up and switch it off.
Similarly, Allah Ta'ala sends conditions upon us, to wake us up. These conditions or tests are like the alarm. If we don't wake up the first time, Allah Ta'ala sends another condition and another, until we do wake up... that is, from ghaflat (heedlessness), and we make sincere Taubah and return to His obedience.
84.
We make many plans for life which is not guaranteed, but we make no plans for death which is guaranteed.
85.
To gain full benefit from any talk (bayaan):
- Listen attentively; with presence of mind.
- Listen to remember.
- Make the intention to act upon the knowledge and make the effort to do so.
- Propagate and share, so that others too, take benefit. (Insha-Allah)
